Shilpoprobha celebrated 5 years of publication with the unveiling of its Anniversary Issue on Special Children on November 11, 2017. The Honorable Finance Minister, Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present as Chief Guest. Mrs. Shoma Huq, Chief Patron, Proyash Institute of Special Education, was present as a Honored Guest.
SPBA arranged a two day long art camp to benefit the special needs children of the Proyash Institute of Special Education. The art camp was held on August 22 - 23, 2017 at the the Proyash campus in Dhaka Cantonment. Mrs. Shoma Huq, Chief Patron of Proyash and Mr. Anjan Chowdhury, Chairman of SPBA were present at the opening ceremony of the art camp.
SPBA Gallery was formally opened by the Minister of Cultural Affairs, Asaduzzaman Noor, MP. SPBA’s board of governors stressed the key role to be played by the new gallery in the organization's endeavor of promoting the young and emerging artists of Bangladesh. Works by over 25 artists, both established and emerging, were on display for the occasion.
On the occasion of the publication of the year ending issue of Shilpoprobha, an art exhibition featuring works by nineteen artists, both established and emerging was held at a hotel in Dhaka. SPBA’s new website was also formally introduced by the Minister of Cultural Affairs, Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP.
The agreement with Embassy of Japan provides young and emerging artists the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Japanese Embassy in Dhaka.
